ADVC-110 connection to Firewire PCI card not recognized in Windows 7

I have an issue with getting my digital video converter to work in Windows 7. I have a Canopus ADVC-110 connected to a SIIG 1394 Firewire PCI card. The device powers on normally when plugged into the 6-pin connector. It does connect to the video output to the VCR. However, it does not appear in the Device Manager nor in Imaging Devices.
