Wired xbox 360 gamestop controller to PC play sound from 360 headphone

Does it work? I want to play sound through my 360 controller by plugging a headphones in (Mic is already plugged into pc mic port) I have a WIRED non-wireless xbox 360 gamestop brand controller working and playing minecraft and skyrim and halo and stuff with it but if i plug headphones into the 360 controller with they play sound from my computer?
