3D games work sometimes, and then don't

its so odd. some days it will work perfect, then other days i will go to play a game (mostly need for speed world, 1nsane, or viper racing) and i will get an error saying "No Direct X found" (need for speed world) or "No 3D rendering application found" (1nsane) OR even more "Your graphics card does not support 3D graphics" (viper racing). i have direct x 9c and it works fine. what i don't...
