Funky USB device recognition issue

Side note: I am aware that trying a fresh install of Windows is one solution, but in this case really the last thing I want to do. After moving house and plugging my USB devices into different ports, I had to 'reinstall' Windows (Upgrade install so I didn't have to reinstall all my other software) as it would not recognise anything except for an old USB keyboard I had never used on this PC...
