Blank taskbar after booting to Windows

Hey guys, I have a really strange problem with my Windows installation, every time I boot to Windows and open up a few programs or folders the taskbar stays completely blank and the only way to navigate between everything is to use alt+tab or Task Manager. Sometimes the taskbar freezes and then I have to kill explorer.exe in order to fix it but when I kill and reopen the process it just sit...
