LAN keeps disconnecting and connecting constantly

For the past month I've been having this issue involving my computer disconnecting from and connecting to the internet. I have Windows 7 (x64) and there is only one (that is: mine) PC connected to the router/modem (non-wireless). There is a periodic burst of "Identifying" with the spinning blue wheel then disappear again to try again a few seconds later. It happens once in every 10-15...
