iexplore.exe running using bandwidth

I am using a net monitor, and one of the processes running is iexplore.exe. It appears to be gobbling up bandwidth, without any reason. I can kill it momentarily with my net monitor, but comes back. I've run malware bytes and nothing found. Maybe this is normal? Thx Greg
