Cannot download or install Windows 7 SP1 no matter what

I am having a nightmare of a time and would very much appreciate any support and advice. I cannot sucessfully complete download and install Windows 7 SP1 for my Windows 7 Home premium operating system. I have followed all available instructions from Windows and other forums to no avail.
